Google Maps For Android Gains Complete Offline Navigation And Search

It was this year when Google promised that the Maps for Android version will be fully updated with enhanced offline mode. Has now becomes true, and Google Maps is certainly getting an update that will add in a ton of information to downloaded offline maps.


The new tweaks to Google Maps for Android includes turn-by-turn navigation, searching for business info as well as destinations within the selected region (location). Once downloaded, the Maps will move into offline mode automatically when it when it recognizes you’re in a location with spotty service or no connectivity at all.

Selecting and downloading a map locally becomes very easy thanks to the dedicated and easy to use download button. You can now make a download of the world right in your phone, and next time when you fin “No connectivity”, Google Maps will continue to work seamlessly. Offline mapping gets another perk that is turn-by-turn directions, search for specific destinations, and find worthy information about places, like hours of operation, contact information or ratings.

Users of Google Maps on Android devices are rejoiced with new features as they can download an area by searching a city, country and for that you have to. Tap ‘Download’ on the resulting place sheet, or else navigate to “Offline Areas” in the Maps menu and just by tapping on the “+” button. Google maps move into offline mode, and once the connection (Cellular or WiFi) is found, it will come back again to online mode, so that you can completely access the full version of Maps, including live traffic conditions for your current route.

Google Maps for iOS, adds spoken traffic alerts and recently it has been iterated with a new app for Apple Watch and for this offline mode feature, users have to wait a little bit until it reaches their iPhone, iPad devices.  For Android users, the new Maps version will slowly become available in the coming days and weeks.
