GTA 6: Grand Theft Auto In Later Stages Of Development, Release Date Tipped For 2019-2020

Now that it’s said GTA 6 (Grand Theft Auto) is in later stages of development with release date timeframe has been predicted for 2019-2020.

The first official whiff of information about GTA 6 release came from Rockstar President Leslie Benzies, who teased that the game is in very early stages of development.“We don’t know what GTA 6 will be, but we’ve got some ideas”, said Benzies in an interview with Develop.

When it comes to sales, there are few game franchises that can compete with Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto series of game titles which, according he sold more than 235 million copies worldwide.

Although it’s far from concrete confirmation of what development stage the title is at, Benzies did give us a few insights into how the idea process starts.

“It comes from the idea first. Where it is going to be set is the first question. Then that defines the missions; you’re doing different things in LA than in New York or Miami. The map and story get worked up together, and the story is a basic flow of how it works out so you can layer the mission in.”

There are a few that can compete with its longevity either, with the first GTA game having arrived as a PlayStation game all the way back in 1997. It’s also worth remembering that by the end of GTA 4’s lifecycle, Rockstar had already conceived some broad ideas about what GTA 5 would be. With GTA 5 now a good few years old it should perhaps come as no surprise that it would appear Rockstar is hard at work getting GTA 6 ready.

GTA Online is the focus right now. There ain’t no reset between finishing 5 and then Online. Rockstar itself still has not tipped that GTA 6 in the works, actor Tim Neff does appear to be working on the project after he updated his own online resume to include an entry for the game.

The latest GTA 6 gossip though is all about the sheer size of the GTA 6 map. According to a new rumor, Rockstar Games could be trying to recreate the entire of the US with GTA 6, rather than just a single city. Apparently Neff is working on motion capture for the title, along with Red Dead Redemption 2 as well.

With Red Dead Redemption 2 launching in Spring 2018 the chances of seeing a new Grand Theft Auto line any time soon on are slim. While GTA 5 is currently sitting on the fastest selling title in videogame history, earning a staggering $1 billion in its first 24 hours of release. This includes the copies sold for PS4 and Xbox One.

We already know about that game’s development, and if Neff is included GTA 6 on his resume then it is clear enough someone inside Rockstar has put the wheels in motion for what will no bobt be another big hit of an open world game.

Tim Neff resume’s on Breakdown

It’s also worth noting here that motion capture is gaming is usually done in the late stages of development, which exactly means next GTA could be scheduled for release in 2019 or 2020.

That could be the time when GTA 6 is coming out, which won’t be for at least another year, but most likely much longer. With the rumored release date hints, apparently Rockstar is using that time to recreate the entire country. As we suspect Rockstar may have wished that the game was effectively confirmed by its own teams rather than a third-party.

As far as us gamers are concerned though, we don’t really care how the game is announced so long as the thing gets made and we get to play it! We assume GTA 6 might hust feature multiple US locations with the distances between each one cut down considerably.

Could this be what we can only hope, on what in store for us in GTA 6? Stay tuned for the reckoned news about the GTA 6 release date.
