As promised, here comes Pangu jailbreak for Apple TV 4 running tvOS 9.0-9.0.1. Pangu team has finally made available to download jailbreak for Apple TV 4 since the debut of the set-top box late last year.
It is important to note that the Pangu Apple TV 4 jailbreak is compatible only with tvOS 9.0 and tvOS 9.0.1, which originally means if your Apple TV is already updated to the version tvOS 9.1.x or the newly released tvOS 9.2, you won’t be able to take advantage of the hack, jailbreak. Also being tvOS 9.0.x is no longer signed by Apple, you even, can’t downgrade back to the older jailbreak-compatible Apple TV firmware either from tvOS 9.1.x or tvOS 9.2.
However, the Apple TV jailbreak works by sideloading the required Pangu files through Xcode, where you will need a Mac with Xcode installed and an active Apple Developer account (you can sign up for it free at developer.apple.com) before you go about jailbreaking your fourth-gen Apple TV box.
According to the team behind, the Pangu jailbreak in its current form will give users SSH and root access to Apple TV 4. The SHH access should also help developers in porting their existing jailbreak tweaks and apps from iOS to tvOS directly. And what’s now!
You can download Pangu tvOS 9.0.x jailbreak for Apple TV 4 from here.
We’ll be back soon with detailed full step-by-step guide on how to jailbreak Apple TV 4 on tvOS 9.0.x using Pangu tool versy soon. Stay tuned!
