BiteSMS Alternative ‘Couria’ For iOS 8.4 Released

Quick Reply feature in iOS 8 is great and all, but it is still limited in a lot of ways and the one you can’t use it to send a message from anywhere in iOS. With BiteSMS now extinct, Couria has just been updated to fix that gap on jailbroken devices running the latest version of iOS 8.4.

Couria is meant to act as an extension to the existing SMS / iMessage app on iOS to make for a more fluid messaging experience on jailbroken devices. Couria is specifically designed to piggyback on iOS 8’s Quick Reply feature by bringing in a slightly minimal system to the messaging landscape. It also has an API available which developers can use it to create add-ons to make it work with third-party apps like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Viber etc.

Of course, this is a jailbreak tweak, Couria brings a slightly ‘fuller’ Quick Reply interface to the display allowing users to view and scroll through the conversation in a windowed mode. A new notification received through message, simply swipe down on the visible banner to extend it to the full-screen view.

Using Activator tweak, Couria can also be configured to invoke a new Quick Compose screen from anywhere in iOS, letting you choose the contact you want to send the message to, type in the message, and send it on its way. Without needing to be in the Message app ever, or even launching it for that matter.

The next time you use the regular reply function for any received SMS or iMessage from the Lock Screen, you can simply reply back in a full-screen mode. The Quick Reply and Quick Compose features are available in their entirely on the Lock Screen, though for Quick Compose, you have to simply configure a gesture in Activator for the Lock Screen to trugger the function.

With some options of customizations, Couria lets you choose theme color for background, text and text bibbles. What else do you need currently.

For iOS 8, Couria can be downloaded from the BigBoss repository in Cydia and with this latest tweak update, it should now work on all devices running iOS 8 – 8.4. Best of all, it’s completely free of cost.
