The Taiwanese-giant has announced its first new Windows 10 running hardware at Computerx in June 2015, alongside a hybrid model as well and confirmed the launch date of both the Asus Transformer Book T100HA 2-in-1 and the Transformer Book Flip TP200SA in the U.S, which finally happened today, on September 23rd.
The two new hybrid devices from Asus debuted has a 2-in-1 affair consisting of a tablet and a dtachable keyboard dock.
Specs-wise, the Asus Transformer Book T100HA tablet has a 10.1-inch display with a 1,280 x 800 pixels resolution with 149ppi. An Intel Atom x5-Z8500 processor is in charge of computing, with a burst frequency as high as ‘Cherry Trail’ x5 Z8500 (up to 2.24 GHz, 2MB L2) processor. You get a choice of 2GB or 4GB of RAM and a built-in storage options of 32/64/128GB, but with Windows 10 Home/Pro pre-installed on-board. Instead of have one port total, the T100HA has one each: USB Type-C, full sized USB 2.0, microUSB 2.0. and of course has a micro HDMI, plus a 3.5mm audio jack.
Now speaking about the accessory that is the keyboard attaches to the tablet, thanks to neodimium magnets and the whole assembly weighs a kilo and change. While the tablet itself is 580g and its 30Whrs battery should be good for 12 hours, as Asus claims. Available in anodized aluminum body dressed in either Tin Grey, Silk, Aqua Blue or Rouge Pink attire.
The Transformer Book Flip TP200SA takes another asset, which is just 8.39mm thick and weighs the same 580 grams, but it includes better innards than the above mentioned tablet. Its keyboard is constantly attached and can reverse completely behind the display when you want to go in full tablet mode. This one comes with a 11.6-inch (1366x768px) display, Pentium N3700 quad-core or a Intel Celeron ‘Braswell’ N3050 dual core CPU (up to 2.16 GHz, 2MB L2), paired up to 4GB of RAM.
You can grab a 32GB or 64GB eMMC storage or buy a 128GB SSD. With richer connectivity, the Flip TP200SA has two full-size USB ports (1×2.0, 1×3.0), a USB Type-C and micro HDMI. It runs on Windows 10 Home/Pro as well, and should last up to 8 hours. Packing a 38Whrs battery, it’s slightly heavier at 1.2kg.
It’s a portable hybrid with keyboard that has 360-degree hinge so that you can flex it like Lenovo Yoga. Other than that, it include WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, headphone/microphone jack, Speakers with SonicMaster audio, card reader, VGA webcam, 1 USB 3.0 port, 1 USB 2.0 port, 1 USB-C Gen 1 and a micro HDMI port. It measures 297 x 201.3 x 18.45mm and weighs 1.2 kg with the battery.
The 2-in-1 Asus Transformer Book T100HA can already be pre-ordered with prices starting at $299/€309 for the base 2GB RAM/32GB storage model, while the TP200SA will start at $349.
