HTC Butterfly 3 Announced: It’s A Water-Resistant Phone, Packs Snapdragon 810 Chip, 3GB RAM

For international markets, the Taiwan-based smartphone maker has announced HTC Butterfly 3 – upgraded variant of HTV31 waterproof smartphone. Priced at NT$ 19,900 (US$ 600 / Rs. 39,740 approx.) and will go on sale in Taiwan starting from October 20th and here are some details to consider about the global roll out.

The HTC Butterfly 3 features a 5.2-inch (1440 x 2560 pixels) Quad HD display, and under the heart of its hardware it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset clocked at Octa-Core (4 x 2.0GHz + 4 x 1.5GHz) 64-bit processor with Adreno 430 GPU. Piared with 3GB of RAM, it also includes a 32GB of internal storage, which can further expandable up to 2TB throgh microSD card.

On the software front, the HTC Butterfly 3 runs on Android Lollipop with Sense 7 UI and poses with a 20MP rear camera with dual LED Flash, sapphire cover lens, BSI sensor, f/2.2, 27.8mm lens, 4K video recording, and a secondary cam to capture depth information. It also houses a front-facing of 13MP BSI sensor, f/2.0, 28.2mm lens, Full HD 1080p video recording capability.

The HTC Butterfly 3 has IPX7 ratings for dust and water resistance. Dual front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby audio and packs a 2700mAh battery. It supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, MHL 3.0, NFC, and GPS with GLONASS connectivity options and will be available to purchase in white, carmine (red) and midnight blue colors.
