Finally, Apple has unveiled two new variants of the iPhone in the form of the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. Yes, both the new iPhones look basically the same as their predecessor and we have although covered almost all the specs, price and release dates for the iPhone 6s. Now that we’re speaking of the 5.5-inch iPhone 6s Plus announced with 3D Touch display, 64-bit A9 chipset, 4K video camera setup and more. Stay tuned!
The iPhone 6s Plus retains its 5.5-inch Retina display, but this time it’s covered by a new, even tougher glass, which Apple describes as the the strongest. Called 3D Touch, a new version of the Force Touch functionality that was first introduced with the Apple Watch and MacBook touchpads, tied to pressure detection, where Apple’s Taptic Engine is also built into the phone to provide feedbacks.
The large-screened iPhone 6s Plus will also come with a new M9 coprocessor, the A9, which promises to be 70 percent faster than Apple’s current A8 chipset, with up to 90 percent better graphics performance. The M9 co-processor is, for the first time ever, embedded directly into the main A9 SoC. It packs a 64-bit chip, alongside its Touch ID sensor has also been upgraded with voice command captcha “Hey, Siri” has been integrated as well.
As seen inside the iPhone 6s, the iPhone 6s Plus also come with an all-new 12-megapixel iSight camera with ‘50% percent more pixel and 50% more focus pixel’ allowing to auto focus even faster and more accurately, alongside a True tone LED flash. The rear camera is acapable to record 4K videos now. On its front, the 5MP Facetime camera has a Retina flash, where the 6s Plus Retina display doubles the flash frequency by getting 3 times more brighter picture while shooting Selfies.
New feature called “Live Photos“, as Apple suggests it as “extends the camera moment“. The feature is ‘On’ by default but can switch back to ‘Off’ as well. The jumbo-sized iPhone 6s Plus comes with same camera hardware embedded within in as well, except that it also features OIS (Optical Image Stabilization). This new feature allows users to capture regular photos but the phone cleverly adds a frame or two before and after the shot, giving it an animated look, with audio. All of this in full 12MP glory.
In particular, these Live Photos will be accessible across Apple’s product range, including OS X El Capitan Macs, iOS devices, and even the Apple Watch. Live Photos are the default mode for all photos taken with the new iPhones.
The rest of the iPhone 6s Plus are identical to what the smaller 4.7-inch iPhone 6s specifications go by. Like the iPhone 6s Plus in Space Gray, Silver, Gold, and the new Rose Gold option that borrows inspiration from the Apple Watch. Accessories, Colors, Motion Wallpapers, Wi-Fi, LTE, Battery up to 24 hours on the larger iPhone 6s Plus, the cell provides the equation.
