Next Windows 10 Mobile Flagship Microsoft Lumia 950 XL Is Now Official

Microsoft has used its highly-anticipated Windows 10 devices event to unveil its new Lumia 950 XL Windows 10 Mobile smartphones. As part of the introduction, the company has although introduced two new flagships, the Lumia 950. Next to wrapp off be the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL.



The hardware is somewhat top-end and the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL flagship has similarities of its smaller bother. It will ship with the same white and black matte polycorbonate exterior, but this time with a jumbo-sized 5.7-inch WQHD OLED display with the same 2560×1440 pixel resolution.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL packs a more powerful aesthetics compared to the 950 when it comes to performance. It has Qualcomm Snapdragon 810, 64-bit Octa-Core processor clocked in at 2.0GHz. Accompanying the monster CPU is 3GB of RAM and like its 5.2-inch brother, the Lumia 950 XL variant will also come equipped with an iris scanner for Windows Hello compatibility.

The same 20MP camera setup is present on the Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, serving up a PureView main sensor with triple LED flash and optical image stabilization (OIS) and a 5MP wide-angle selfie shooter mounted at the top of the hardware. QI wireless charging and USB Type-C support finish the specification.


All-in-all the new Microsoft Lumia 950 XL carries the “Liquid cooling” tech like its sibling and supports Windows Continuum on-board. It is backed up by a 3340mAh removable battery and fast charging capabilities that will let you charge the phone up to 50% in just 30 minutes.

Users of Microsoft Lumia 950 XL can easily connect the phone to a Microsoft Display Dock and use it with an external monitor, a keyboard and a mouse for a PC-like experience. There is also Lumia 950 XL Dual SIM, which is a dual SIM variant of the smartphone.

The Microsoft Lumia 950 XL will be available for $649 respectively and the Lumia 950 costs $549. Both flagship devices will start shipping in November.
