Today Microsoft has officially introduced its new Windows 10 S powered Surface Laptop. Designed specifically to empower students and teachers to create the world of tomorrow. With the latest version of Windows 10 S operating system, Microsoft all set to take on Google’s Chrome OS in the education market, and with the launch of new Surface Laptop, Microsoft back to basic competition vs Google’s Chromebooks segment.
For details! Here’s everything you need to know about Microsoft’s all-new Surface Laptop running the latest version Windows 10 S. The Surface Laptop was built to do two things: refresh the classic laptop form factor that customers, especially collage students, have been asking for, and also make a Surface that works seamlessly to showcase the best of Windows 10 S software.
Microsoft has used its New York City event to to warped off a brand new device branded as Microsoft Surface Laptop which as said comes pre-installed with the company’s latest Windows 10 S operating system. Rather looking to penetrate the mainstream laptop. Panay used the keynote to confirm the admission that the Surface Laptop was born from feedback by students, and is therefore aimed at that particular demographic.
The Surface Laptop is being marketed as the most versatile and mobile laptop Microsoft have ever made, specially for students. Beautiful is definitely a subjective term, but the Surface Laptop is undeniably a lovely looking piece of kit.
Putting the aesthetic design aside, Microsoft is touting a device with a stunning Alcantara-covered keyboard and palm rest, as well as a 1.5mm travel for the stunning backlit keys. Surface Book provides an incredible trackpad and typing experience, also manufactured and sold as a clamshell true laptop, rather than a 2-in-1 laptop + tablet device. With Surface Studio giving you the ability to immerse yourself in various ideas. There’s still a Surface Dial as is a new tool for creators that with integration across Windows apps, brings new experiences to life.
Until now, no other laptop is as light and thin as Surface. It only weighs in at 2.76 pounds and is 14.44 millimeters at its thickest point. The hardware comes equipped with a 13.5-inch PixelSense Display (2256 x 1504) resolution with a 3:2 aspect ratio; and is stated to be the “thinnest LCD touch model ever built and put into a laptop” if Panay’s sales rhetoric is to be believed. The display compete with edge-to-edge Corning Gorilla Glass 3, the thinnest screen featured on any laptop, its 3.4M pixels (201 ppi density) with every pixel color calibrated to give you an unmatched viewing experience. It will offer compatibility with the Surface Pen, too.
Additionally, the gorgeous Surface display is coupled together with a 7th Generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor in order to offer a performance which is “absolutely amazing“. When compared, it boasts up to four more hours of battery power than a 13-inch MacBook Pro, totaling 14.5 hours, if the situation with a real-world test comes in near future.
Arriving in multiple color options, the anodized metal on the outside feels smooth and cool while the inside Alcantara materials feels soft and warm and the keyboard which we discussed earlier alongside soft palm rest provides with a new level of typing comfort.
Fans will be able to get their hands on choosing from 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB of RAM, with storage options coming in at 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, Microsoft tells us that the Surface Laptop can list up to an impressive fourteen and half hours on a single charge. Already mentioned that.
We don’t want to hide anything about the colors which Microsoft will be offering the Surface Laptop in; Platinum, Burgundy, Cobalt Blue, and Graphite Gold.
There are many cool things but the one about the hardware is that the company has engineered in vapor chambers directly into the shell of the device to keep it cool, has also built in a system allowing audio to seep out from under the keyboard rather than have ugly speakers spoiling the gorgeously aluminum body.
Pre-orders for the Microsoft’s new Surface Laptop began already, is priced at $999. Shipping starts next month on June 15th and will become available to purchase as well.
