Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Specs Leaked Ahead Of August 11th Unveil Date

Talking about the refreshed version of Sanpdragon chiset and the successor to the S810 mobile SoC, probably won’t launch until late 2015, because its still not completely out of the woods in regards to the recently debunked, presumable overheating issues. The first smartphone packing a Snapdragon 820 chipset can only be released in early 2016, which was all expected, but the chipmaker Qualcomm is also said to unveil the newer processor as soon as next week.

The company is expected to announce the Qualcomm S820 processor at a press event on the 11th of August in Los Angeles, according to the report surfaced of China. Qualcomm although confirmed plans regarding Snapdragon 820 without offering many details. But nevertheless, we here got some specifications of the S820 chipset, will feature a specialized 64-bit core called Kyro, could also sport an Adreno 530 GPU graphics card and supports LTE Cat.10 modem.

Now that the new Snapdragon 820 have been leaked and it will apparently bring a 30 percent power improvement and a 40 percent GPU improvement over the current processor. Rumors always points that it could clock at 3.0GHz, compared to the 2GHz Snapdragon 810 and the 2.1GHz Exynos 7420 from Samsung. Recent Snapdragon 820 benchmark also suggests the new processor will be significantly faster than anything currently on the market.


The big unclarified question would be how Qualcomm fix the overheating issues that plauged the S810. It looks like the company is evidently taking precautions to avoid another issue, so this chip will run without any problems.

Another news claims that the Huawei Google Nexus smartphone will be the first device to use Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820 processor, expected to launch sometime before the end of this year. New LG G Flex 3 and LG G Pro 3 is also alleged to get the same Snapdragon 820 flavor this year.
