LG has announced it will be launching two smartphones with Voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) and VoWIfi (Over Wi-Fi) into the Indian market with partnering Reliance Retail. Spirit LTE and G4 Stylus 4G are the new hardware specifically build with faster transmission of data and voice. Details on this topic can be found right after this jump.
LG India has although confirmed the launch of Sprit LTE smartphone alongside the G4 Stylus 4G through Relianace Retail. However, LG has confirmed that it will be available across the country at various multi-brand outlets. Both the handsets support VoLTE, an acronym for Voice over Long Term Evolution as well as VoWiFi or Voice over Wi-Fi.
The VoLTE is based on IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) networks which offers specific profile for control and media plans of voice service. Delivery of voice over is like the data flows within the LTE data barear, which in fact implies there is no dependency on legacy circuit switch voice connection to be maintained. These new devices are a must have for all those who want to take advantage of the 4G network.
While the VoWiFi allows interaction of a handset between wireless and cellular services and is very useful for users those have poor or low cellular coverage in their home networks. Reliance Retail and LG both have entered into an exclusive sales and distribution partnership to expand the availability and sales of the VoLTE and VoWiFi-enabled devices across the country.

The South Korean company has already launched LG G4 Stylus and Spirit with 3G connectivity and the biggest difference between the foremost and the 4G-capable Sprit LTE is added 4G-network support and notably the LTE variant packs 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 chipset while the Spirit came with a 1.3GHz quad-core (unspecified chipset) processor.
The LG Spirit LTE sports a dual-SIM (Micro-SIM) and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop. Features a 4.7-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) resolution curved display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection and pixel density of 312ppi. Powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of ROM, microSD card support.
Connectivity options on the LG Spirit LTE include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, and Micro-USB apart from 4G LTE. The handset is backed by a 2100mAh battery. Camera on it back, you’ll find an 8MP sensor with LED flash and only 1MP front-facing shooter.

Reliance Retail has powerful network of over 1200 distributors and 150,000 retail outlets that will support the evolving VoLTE, VoWiFi ecosystem in India.
