Reports: Samsung Waterproof Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge Could Be Made In India

Upcoming Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge from Samsung would come with a waterproof rating, which actually was removed from the last year’s Galaxy S6. Reports although claims that Samsung is planning to introduce Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge with waterproof certifcation. Details on this can be found right after this jump.


Within two weeks we are going to witness what Samsung Unpacked event will introduce on February 21st just ahead of MWC 2016 media event. Regarding Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, we and you already know almost everything about it specifications and design and the latest leak indeed tipping us about the credibility to the earlier rumors that pointed to both the mobile devices having waterproof capabilities. Zauba, India’s import/export database has got a list of spare parts of the Galaxy S7 carrying model SM-G930F number. It includes SIM tray, built-in mic, heart rate monitor (HRM) and an Octa-Core components, altogether having the keyword “waterproof”.

It seems like that Samsung importing the oft-mentioned components for Galaxy S7 in a large quantities, also suggests that it could manufacture the hardwares in India. As the South Korean firm is manufacturing bulk of its smartphones in India, some of which also exported to other markets.

Unaware of this, on Galaxy S7 Edge modeol has recently appeared on FCC listing, where Samsung disclosed some of its key features. The Edge variant of Galaxy S7 will come equipped with a 3600mAh battery, also revealed the connectivity options such as NFC, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth and 4G LTE, which supposedly to be the same for both devices.


Specifications-wise, the two new Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge has similar under hood features, but on the display front, the S7 has 5.1-inch screen and the S7 Edge poses with a 5.5-inch and both the screens uses Super AMOLED running at QHD 2560×1440 pixels resolution.

Both the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will either be integrated with Snapdragon 820 chip or go Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 chipset, depending on market. Likely to be paired with 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of internal storage and to have an expandable microSD card support.

Camera depratment on the two new Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, you may find a 12MP rear sensor with f/1.7 lens aperture, and a secondary 5MP selfie shooter, and of course going to see the USB Type-C port and batteries with Quick Charge supporting.
