The Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 (SM-T815Y) has been officially launched in India, the company’s latest tablet series in the Galaxy Tab S segment. The new Samsung LTE voice-calling tablet will go on sale from Wednesday and available in all the retail outlets across the country. Can be purchased in Gold, Black and White colors.
Priced at Rs 39,400, the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 LTE model is claimed by the company as they are offering the world’s slimmest tablet, with a thickness of 5.6mm, and had first debuted it globally in July. Now in India, you will be able to buy it at the oft-mentioned cost.
The new slate has a 9.7-inch (2048×1536 pixel) 4:3 QXGA Super AMOLED display, is powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 5433 (four cores with 1.9GHz + four cores with 1.3GHz) processor with Mali-T760 GPU, paired with 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM, 32GB of internal storage, expandable microSD card supports up to 128GB. It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with a Fingerprint Scanner built-in and also houses an 8MP rear camera, 2.1MP front-facing shooter. Moreover, the Galaxy S2 LTE tablet supports 4G, 3G HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz/5GHz) MIMO, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, GLONASS connectivity options and packs a 5870mAh battery on-board.
Sensors featured are accelerometer, fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, compass, hall sensor, and RGB sensor. Samsung has teamed up with Airtel to offer free 2GB of 4G Internet data per month for two months for the tablet owners. It comes pre-loaded with Galaxy Gifts worth over Rs. 31,000 that includes access to premium apps from News, Entertainment, Productivity. Select apps are also free to download for the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 users for a limited time.
