The Closest Look At The iPhone 8 Yet Based On Factory CAD [Video]

A new iPhone 8 video render has surfaced potentially giving us the clearest and most accurate indication yet of what Apple’s next-generation iPhone 2017 will look like.

The clip introduced into the public domain by OnLeaks, are purely based on leaked CAD drawings of iPhone 8, and giving us an accurate note of Apple’s plans for the next iPhone.

iPhone 8 Internals

When seeing it, you will instantly get a feel of just how gorgeous the device is likely to be. But you can also tell that it is noticeably thicker than Apple currently offers with its iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. What appears to be included are the dimensions that iPhone 8 will measure in at 143.5-by-70.9-by-7.7, assuming that it is only 0.3mm thicker than the current Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus, but it’s definitely visually identical.

Overall design the renders in the video present an iPhone with stainless steel edges similar to what was offered many years ago with iPhone 4. There’s still a stunning edge-to-edge OLED display which really needed to be in place to compete with Samsung’s Infinity Display on the Galaxy S8 and S8+, as well as an all-glass rear architecture.

You will also immediately notice a dual-lens camera system mounted vertically rather than the usual horizontal alignment that we’ve become accompanied to.

iPhone 8 Design

One of the variance with iPhone 8 is the placement of the Touch ID sensor, and more specifically, whether that will be a virtual system mounted under the display of the device, or Apple will place this on the rear. The so-called iPhone 8 renders in the video definitely don’t reveal any location on the back of the device, though it’s also not immediately evident how it would be integrated into the front panel of the new hardware either. We will learn more about these aspects as we get closer to an official Apple announcement on the topic.

However, it’s great that we get a visual overview of a device that is said to be based on an actual official CAD drawings now, but it’s also important to remember that Apple will be internally testing and trying out a number of different iPhone 8 designs. Literally, it could be representative of just one of those designs, and may not specifically be the one that will hit the market this coming September.
