Google’s Android Wear 2.0 has started rolling out to some LG Watch Urbane and Watch R users a couple of days ago, nevertheless, now we got an official confirmation from the Samsung rival, another South-Korean company, LG that the Wear 2.0 update will be made available to download and install on the already popular smartwatch devices very soon, may be in May.
Now, it looks like the initial report previously mentioned was 100% accurate, as LG has just announced that Android Wear 2.0 version update is now being pushed to the original Watch Urbane smartwatch and the Watch R.
Unfortunately, those expected the latest Watch Urbane 2nd Gen to get the same treatment, have to lower those expectations, as LG states that this particular wrist wearable won’t be getting Android Wear 2.0 until early May.
In order to enjoy goodies Android Wear 2.0 promises to bring on to your LG Watch R or Watch Urbane, and those causing the 2nd-generation Urbane will have to wait patiently for about three more weeks.
Once Android Wear 2.0 is fully-ready and compatible with the requirements for your smartwatch from LG, expect to get new features like a dedicated Google Play Store, swipe keyboard, as well as many improvements to Bluetooth sync and Wi-Fi connectivity. More to be highlighted in the release notes and changelog, once any pros or cons are live.
To learn more, please feel free to wait a little more time as the date is unknown.
