Latest report comes directly from TRAI, according to its data Reliance Jio 4G download speed once again sits on top of the five fastest operators list. While Idea also has the fastest 4G upload speeds, where Reliance 4G stands at fourth place. In brief, here are the details according to TRAI data.
What about Reliance Jio’s rival Airtel? As per TRAI data, the Bharti Airtel continues to air advertisements claiming its network is the fastest, but the new report that surfaced recently suggests that, the telecom upstart had the fastest 4G network in the country, however, in February, while it languished on the fourth spot in January.
Now, after the announcement of the new Reliance Jio Summer Surprise offer, under which the operators services can be availed for free for three more months, making it the acquire the best spot in the wireless and internet bandwidth segment. At 16.487Mbps average download speed, Reliance Jio again becomes the fastest 4G network in India.
Data from TRAI’s MySpeed app shows Reliance Jio leads industry with an average 4G mobile download speeds of 16.487Mbps (almost 2MB per second). When compared to Idea with 12.092Mbps, Airtel (10.439Mbps), and Vodafone (7.933Mbps), Reliance Jio 4G Download Speeds immediately leads the counterpart. Rounding off the top 5 is Reliance Communications (2.958Mbps).
Interestingly, the four fastest networks in the country although saw their average download speeds decline marginally over the previous month, March. In fact, Airtel and Vodafone have seen their 4G download speeds have been decreasing since January, as the chart shows below.
Speaking about the fastest network in terms of downloads, Reliance Jio lags behind the incumbents when it comes to average 4G upload speeds. Idea leads the situation with 6.536Mbps average upload speed, followed by Vodafone at 5.429Mbps, and Airtel with 4.455Mbps. Reliance Jio stands in fourth in this segment with at 3.581Mbps, followed by RCom (1.490Mbps).
Notable is the rather steep decline in Idea Cellular’s average 4G upload speed – from 7.497Mbps to 6.536Mbps, which has been the same in February. On the other hand, Reliance Jio’s speed increased from 2.208Mbps to 3.581Mbps. Vodafone and Idea did not have much change in their average 4G upload speeds.
You, being a customer should acknowledge everything before connecting with either Reliance Jio 4G or Airtel or any other cellular networks, as all of these are competing with each other, sometimes one will become the fastest and others go down. That’s is not the actual point here, while Reliance Jio in my thought is also advertising its 4G download speeds as the fastest and offering users with many pans, cheap ones in particular. whereas Airtel won’t let you get the same like Reliance Jio, rather it grabs money with its small plans.
For example: Reliance Jio is offering an unlimited 4G internet plan (like 10GB per day) at only Rs 330 for a month or three., Airtel only gives you for the same price a 1.2GB or 3GB of data per month.
Like that there are many cases, when the data comes at a time when Reliance Jio has filed a complaint against Airtel over Ads claiming that the latter is the fastest in India. Warned by Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), which found Airtel’s claim misleading, and asked the operator to eventually modify or withdraw the TV commercials and website ads by April 11.
