It’s now official, as the new Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus (aka S8+) both are set for pre-order on March 30, and officially available from the carriers on April 21st. Best Buy already has its informational page up for both S8 and S8+ devices for sale on May 9th, but now it seems that the listed pages for that offer have been removed. Both the unlocked Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ models can be used on any US network, though, in the past Samsung has been slow to issue upgrades to the unlocked variants, but that may change with the new Galaxy S8 lineup. With $25 discount over what you would pay through a carrier, the unlocked Galaxy S8 will cost you $724.99 and the Galaxy S8+ will run you $824. Many people prefer unlocked models to ones purchased through the carrier Verizon or AT&T will add a lot of bloatware that is carrier related.
Currently, you can only ask to be notified when the status will change to order. Although the websites tells you that unlocked Galaxy S8 orders will start on Thursday, March 30. Under-the-hood, there’s a new Snapdragon 835 processor provides the power and the Adreno 540 GPU handles the graphics in the US model. It packs a 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 64GB of expandable memory. It features a dual PIXEL 12-megpaixel camera with improved functionality and a larger 8MP front-facing selfie camera (FFC) with autofocus for best video chatting. On the battery package, you will find a 3000mAh cell for Galaxy S8 and the S8+ carries a 3500mAh unit, both are non-removable, but features Qualcomm Quick Charge and wireless charging.
