Unfortunately, the ZenFone 4 Max bearing the model number ZC554KL has been listed on the official support pages on Friday, but Taiwan-based consumer electronics manufacturer, ASUS delisted the device only hours after accidentally showing it off. Here are the details.
We can admit that there’s such a device in existence, while the model number of the handset indicates that this could be the successor to the ZenFone 4 Max variant, which will ship with a 5.5-inch display and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon-branded chip that will be somewhat compatible with 4G LTE networks. Expected to see a Snapdragon 625 or the SD660 chips that the San Diego-based semiconductor firm is scheduled to unveil on Tuesday, May 9.
There’s another appearance of ASUS-made device was spotted and listed by popular mobile benchmarking tool, GFXBench. It reveals the “ASUS X00ID” basic specifications, seemingly correspond to the ZenFone 4 Max.As per the listing, the Taiwanese company may launch an Android-powered smartphone boasting a 5.5-inch screen with resolution of 1280 by 720 pixels and powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon system-on-chip (SoC) with eight cores clocked at up to 1.4GHz. Interestingly, the two model numbers indicates that they aren’t one and same, benchmarks listings can easily be fooled, especially in terms of device names and model numbers.
In fact, the ZenFone 4 Max seems to be at least a small upgrade over its predecessors, and the company will likely opt to release at least several variants f this particular device, which may imply that the upcoming smartphones in ASUS ZenFone 4 lineup will be announced at ComputerX Taipei 2017 keynote which is scheduled to start on May 30.
With the model number ZC554KL now accidentally listed and quickly removed by ASUS almost certainly isn’t the top-tier member of the upcoming range, thought it remains to be seen how it will compete with its siblings. Given the increasing number of rumors regarding the ZenFone 4 family, an update on the availability of next-gen ASUS-made device may follow soon.Stay tuned for more!
