HTC U 11: HTC Ocean To Be Called As The Next HTC U Model

The first HTC Ocean model appeared when a video surfaced allegedly showing an HTC flagship handset with no physical controls, instead relying solely on gestures. Now, popular tipster Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) has given it the the HTC’s upcoming flagship HTC U Ocean a real name, the HTC U 11.

Will come in 5 colors, according to the recently purported words and statement on the HTC U 11 smartphone. With that said, the report also claims saying the HTC U 11 will be retail in black, white, blue, red and silver fragments and all of the five colors will be available in every market where it launch.

Blass also claims the device will still remain part of the U brand, but will also be marketed as the true successor to the last year’s HTC 10. HTC U 11 will join the U Ultra and the U Play models which made their debut this year in January 2017.

It is noted, though, while HTC has kept plans secret for the U 11 close to the vest, the phone and its name has been the subject of endless reports over the last few months.

Previous rumors also speculated the details on the yet-unannounced phone to feature a 5.5-ich WQHD display (2560×1440) resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 12-megapixel rear and 16-megapixe front-facing camera setup, 64GB or 128GB internal storage, microSD card support, Android 7.1 Nougat based on top of HTC’s own Sense 9 UI.

Best part here to make a note of is that the HTC U 11 is also going to get pressure sensitive edges around body of the hardware, which can be used to control various functions. But it’s unclear whether or how the edges will interact with the said device’s user interface.

For HTC, the U 11 release will be somewhat critical this year. The company’s last premium smartphone, the U Ultra has eventually failed to make a good place in the high-end Android smartphone ear dominated by the likes of Apple and Samsung. The successor to the HTC 10, is currently codenamed ‘Ocean’ and will launch at a scheduled event which will take place on May 16, which HTC confirmed earlier this week.
