Huawei, a Chinese maker is expected to announce three new models next month: the Huawei P20 Lite, P20, and P20 Plus. Here are the details.
New leaks, however, suggests the Huawei P20 will have the iPhone X-like notch at the top. Notch clones are almost becoming a routine at the point, and now Huawei might be joining them, too. With today’s tweet, Evan Blass has uploaded new images of the rumored P20 phone.
You will notice the said device appears to be running Android 8.0 Oreo, has a dual, rear-facing camera system, and also incorporates a notch, in order to achieve a minimal bezel look. The back portion of the device says “Shirley,” which might otherwise be a codename? It’s unclear.
The leaked photo corroborates our findings, as it shows the presence of the distinctive notch. A photo of the regular Huawei P20 has a near bezel-less display, but have a fingerprint sensor which is integrated with the Home button on the front of the device.
On the back, we find vertically placed dual cameras, and of course, an LED flash below the module. The back of the phone also shows “BYOCA” alongside “Shirley” near the camera module, both of which are likely misdirection from Huawei.
The photos also confirm that the Huawei P20 will have a glass back. The P20 previously showed up on TENAA, the Chinese version of FCC, although looked like what we see above now. It previously also reported that the device would apparently have three cameras on the back, but that appears to not be the case.
As a reminder, we were expecting that Huawei P20 series will have the HiSilicon Kirin 970 SoC and it may have a 6.0.1-inch display and launch with the EMUI 8.1 out of the box. And, expected to announce the P20 Lite and P20 Plus alongside. For proof, it has released a short teaser video that still fuels that three camera rumor. Maybe one of the phones will have trio camera setup, could be the P20 Plus?
Reportedly, the phones will launch with the Point Cloud Depth Camera, Huawei’s answer to Apple’s Face ID. It has also been discovered that Huawei P20 would equipped with a battery capacity of 3320mAh, while the P20 Plus has 4000mAh battery, along with an Always-on Display feature, could lead to have an OLED screen.
