Anil Dhirubhai Ambani owned Reliance Communications (Rcom) has made available to purchase 4G WD670 – a wifi router with a built-in battery, microSD card slot that holds up to 32GB of external memory at its e-commerce website for Rs 2,699. This 4G MiFi device works on all three bands on which Reliance Jio and Rcom plan to operate their LTE services – 3, 5 and 40.
The Reliance 4G mifi device also has a battery of 2.3 ampere-hour, which, according to the website, should give a backup time of almost 5-6 hours. With that said, also has an expandable SD card support and a single unit can get 31 simultaneous users as per the listing, has come 10 days ahead of RCom’s planned upgrade of its CDMA service to 4G.
Starting May 4, the operator will allow it’s CDMA subscribers to submit their existing UIM cards and pbtain a new 4G SIM card. RCom is offering its 4G service with the help of network partner Reliance Jio, which is also expected to unveil new trial schemes over the next ten days. While Jio is also expected to offer MiFi devices in the INR 2000 – 2,600 range.
