Witness the real action video emerged purporting to show iOS 10.1 / 10.1.1 jailbreak running on an iPhone 7. Jailbreak solution is however not meant for the public consumption though.
iPhone and iPad owners will be aware of the fact that Apple has recently released iOS 10.1 relatively to introduce the new Camera Portrait mode as well as patch a number of critical software bugs, nevertheless, it also seems that it’s actually possible to liberate Apple’s platform in order to run Cydia and other jailbreak extensions directly on the device.
The responsibility of uploading the video to YouTube took by the Twitter handle @ijapija00, claims that the shown off jailbreak is purely based on the usage of one single exploit, and also takes the chances to literally shown off a working tweak, built by the same developer, called Amalthea. Also said he has no intention in releasing anything regarding the jailbreak to the public.
The interesting thing with this video is that it was actually created more than a week ago, on October 24th, with individual in question choosing to show it off now. He suggests that it works on iOS 10.1.1 as well. How?
In fact the uploader also caveats the video and the whole jailbreak experience, that too with a number of points. Firstly, he makes it clear that Cydia Substrate has been directly patched with a new library that comes along with task loading any installed tweaks into the system. This could be only reason that he chosen not to release the jailbreak to the public as it relies on a library not owned by him and not made available for distribution.
Another reason behind not being released to the public appears to be the fact that he simply doesn’t want to be responsible for offering support for the jailbreak and of course, wants no liability for any devices that are affected should the worst occur.
The most acceptable reason for not actually releasing, is that it just isn’t stable in the current form. To that end, it seems that the jailbreak solution is mostly being used for private testing of tweaks and research.
Finally, the developer may not be in a position to release, but it’s still extremely warming to know that iOS 10.1, and iOS 10.1.1 for that matter, is capable of being jailbroken. Anytime now!
