Electra Jailbreak For iOS 11.3.1 Might Be Released As Safari-Based JailbreakMe 5.0

Recently we got to know that there is a potential for the iOS 11.3.1 jailbreak to be offered via Safari-based JailbreakMe 5.0 experience, which is now confirmed by CoolStar.

As far as the current situation is concerned, thanks to a new post with a great deal of information. First of all, we are sure we will be getting a jailbreak that is capable of liberating all devices with iOS 11.3.1.

All of the necessary components are in place for that to happen and a team there actively working on putting it in place ahead of a public release. Electra Team Twitter account confirming that certain parts of the jailbreak are now active, as we have been told also had multiple updates including Cydia running on iOS 11.3.1 devices.

As we have in the screenshots of Cydia icon on the Home screen of a jailbroken iOS 11.3.1 device surrounded by other popular apps, such as Snapchat, Instagram, and the native and official Twitter app. The developer behind it also shared a few of Cydia up and running on the device shown as iPhone 10,6, or iPhone X – and the string of text at the bottom of the Cydia interface – showing up the device is running iOS 11.3.1 and the 64-bit version of Cydia with version number 1.1.30.

The next imagery of the same version of Cydia running on the 2017 10.5-inch iPad Pro has also been shared – this time showing the Settings app loaded with a host of jailbreak apps and tweaks.

The aforementioned @Pwn20wnd has suggested that the UI of Electra1131 is “99%” done with the focus now being placed on trying to make everything as a simple as a single tap. CoolStar also confirmed that there will be no public or developer-facing beta release of Electra1131.  As soon as additional information becomes public knowledge, we will be sure to let you know.

Now, then, after Niklas Baumstark tweeted to the world about his ability to exploit a vulnerability in iOS via Safari. This could lead to the future of Electra jailbreak with developer CoolStar inquiring him about the possibility of making Electra1131 a Safari-based JailbreakMe 5.0 experience.

If that’s the case, that would mean iPhone and iPad owners running iOS 11.3.1 could simply head to a purpose-built Electra website via safari on their device and have the whole jailbreak process done successfully via the web rather than having to install an IPA file on their device.

Currently, this appears to be at the stage where it’s an interim conversation between the two developers on the possibility of collaboration to make it happen rather than anything being set in stone. However, the initial online interaction appears to be a positive declaration about a new JailbreakMe-esque experience is coming which could jailbreak iOS 11.3.1 devices with maximum ease of use and minimal fuss.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed for this to develop in the best way that for all concerned today.
