Latest Galaxy Note 5 Update Gets Samsung Pay App Service

In India, Galaxy Note 5 device received a new firmware update which is just under 320MB, brings the usual slew of device stability improvements and some minor bug fixes aside from the highly-anticipated Samsung Pay virtual payment app. The update also includes the January security patch for the Galaxy Note 5. Now, the Korean firm has began rolling out the Samsung Pay via latest update in the country.

It was in December, Samsung reportedly planning to bring its own mobile payments app to India in the first half of 2017. Today it looks like Samsung will soon be announcing the launch of Samsung pay service in India in the next coming days. The company was teasing the Samsung Pay launch for India with the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge. It appears that the payment service will be rolling out soon as the latest Galaxy Note 5 update, which Samsung has released in India today that brings the Samsung Pay app.

It may be only a matter of time before subsequent updates bring this app for other Galaxy smartphones compatible with Samsung Pay. Updated version of the firmware N920GUBU3BQA3 for the Galaxy Note 5 in India rolling out today. If this continues to all of its supported Galaxy S and Note series in the next few months, Samsung Pay can beat Android Pay and Apple Pay in the country, as both the services are not gone live in India as yet.
