The New LG V40 Flagship To Have 5 Cameras, Notched Display, Face Unlock, More

It seems like LG have a better solution for its upcoming V40 flagship in order to put things upfront and make it the best premium smartphone in the market. New report claims LG’s next flagship device will have more cameras than ever. Here are the details on it right below.

Rumors from Android Police says the company is throwing caution to the wind and putting five cameras on its new phone, a device that will definitely succeed where last year’s V30’s (and its V35 model) partly three cameras did not.

LG V40 rumored to boast five cameras, face unlock and notched display

In fact, LG says screw everything and they have done that successfully by adding five camera sensors on the V40 flagship. When going into highlights, the LG’s V40 will feature three cameras on the back of the device. It’s somewhat similar to the Huawei P20 Pro, the first major smartphone to offer a triple-camera system. The V40 will also feature dual-lens cameras on the front of the device, and what’s rumored be a stereo system to follow for 3D face mapping and unlocking.

As we’re getting closer to IFA 2018 trade fail that’s scheduled to kick off in late August, more news about unannounced flagships emerges online. Like the LG V40, which is slowly less of a mystery thanks to a couple of leaked photos and reports that seem to paint a pretty darn good idea.

Previously, LG rumored plans continue to use an OLED panel in the V-series comes alive. The V40 is no exception, then. However, we didn’t know is that LG will put a notched display on the upcoming V40 phone, but users will be able to hide it, just like in G7’s case. Also, at least one of the front cameras will allow users to unlock the phone with their face.

The triple-camera setup on the V40’s back will feature a standard wide lens, LG’s ultrawide lens, as well as a third sensor that we haven’t yet learned anything about. Both the dual-front camera and triple-rear-facing camera configurations aren’t new, the five-camera system would be the first time we’ve seen both on a single device. It the rumor is anything to be accurate and believed, this would be the most cameras on a smartphone.

Specifications-wise. the LG V40 will be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC, the chip maker’s proprietary Quad DAC, and a dedicated Google Assistant button. The back of the phone may be a bit crowned due to the addition of an extra lens, LG has decided to keep it for fingerprint sensor on the rear side as well.

LG will presumably have more news regarding the V40 sometime later this summer ahead of a fall launch. LG may be back to the business again, especially if the V40 will be priced competitively. So we likely won’t have long to wait to find out more.
