Asus, a Taiwan-based manufacturer is expected to launch a bunch of ZenFone 5 series smartphones at the upcoming Mobile World Congress 2018. Images of the Asus ZenFone 5 Lite, which is one of the handsets has been surfaced online. Here are the details you need to know about it.
Courtesy of Evan Blass, we are getting to the ZenFone 5 Lite press shots, which is said to have dual-lens front-facing cameras and a rear camera setup. According to the leaked image, the smartphone features a glossy glass back and a vertical dual camera system on the rear side of the device, ZenFone 5 Lite. A single LED flash is also seen beside the set-up of the dual camera on the device.
Two of the expected smartphones to be launched at the event are Asus ZenFone 5 Lite and the Asus ZenFone 5 Max. The design sketch of the ZenFone 5 we have in a manual leak, and today the Lite variant in press images surfaced.
The overall design and vertical, central camera alignment definitely match, so it is probably the “Lite” variant on display in the photo, rather than the regular ZenFone 5. With Asus logo in the back is clearly visible. There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint reader that remains in its typical spot and seems to be a single camera LED flash. A fingerprint sensor on the back means a lack of capacitive controls and a Home button on the front, in favor of on-screen navigation. The frame looks to be metal and the oval shape of the port almost certainly indicates Type-C.
The ZenFone 5 Lite in the emerged shots will also sport a new 18:9 with Full HD+ display resolution, curved edges, and exposed antenna lines. Once again, the number of cameras is said to total 4 – dual 16MP main cameras and dual front 20MP cameras for selfies and portrait camera feature like beauty mode and artificial bokeh.
It seems the rear camera arrangement on the Lite variant resembles the Honor 6X design from last year. As per the Geekbench results, the ZenFone 5 is rumored to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chip clocked at 1.4GHz Octa-Core processor, 3GB RAM, and Android 8.0 Oreo. The specifications and the features we’re talking about should be a mid-range offering since it’s a lite variant.
Everything will be shown off and unveiled, as Asus has already scheduled an event for February 27 at MWC 2018 in Barcelona, where the ZenFone 5 Lite will likely be announced, alongside the regular ZenFone 5. Rumors have it, hint of a ZenFone 5 Max variant, equipped with a massive battery.
