Both Google Pixel And Pixel XL Certified By GCF, TPU Cases Surfaced Already

Google’s next Nexus smartphone brand could be called the Pixel and Pixel XL and launching without Nexus branding in favor of new name. Both the smartphones have now been certified by Global Certification Forum (GCF). Here are the details.

Apparently it shows four models (two international and two US-based versions) of the Pixel and Pixel XL has passed through GCF. The listing also reveals the model numbers of each, as ‘G-2PW2100’ and ‘G-2PW2200’ for the Pixel and ‘G-2PW4100’ and ‘G-2PW4200’ for the Pixel XL variants. Furthermore, these leaked devices documents also confirms that these phones are manufactured by HTC.

The devices with model numbers G-2PW2100 and G-2PW4100 already gets FCC certifications which are said to be the US-only models. Listing also suggests all of the four devices will support 2G, 3G, and 4G LTE network bands.

Just after getting GCF certification, TPU cases of Pixel and Pixel XL phones have been surfaced. These cases have a cut out fingerprint sensor and camera module at the back. While the power button and volume rocker are seen on the right side the cut out for the 3.5mm headphone jack on top.

The Pixel XL is said to be the larger variant of the two, which has been spotted on Geekbench showing similar specs that we already accompanied – Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM and Android 7.1 Nougat on software front.


Tipped to announce both the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones on October 4th.
