Honor 6X With Dual Camera Setup Announced: Official Specs, Price And Release Date


Huawei’s Honor subsidiary brand has announced Honor 6X smartphone, the company’s latest mid-range handset at an event in China. Honor 6X comes with a dual-camera system and the successor to the low-cost Honor 5X also features a 5.5-inch FullHD (1080p) display and metal unibody design.

Here is everything you need to know about the newly launched Honor 6X. It’s Honor that has made a name for itself manufacturing budget Android smartphones that deliver on quality and the X6 is no different but still can maintain the trend. Other key features include a Kirin 655 processor, 3 or 4GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of storage space, and a worthy battery unit.

Honor 6X Specifications

The new smartphone 6X features a 5.5-inch FHD (1920×1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass IPS display, which is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 655 (4 x 2.1GHz + 4 x 1.7GHz) 16nm processor under-the-hood, paired with Mali-T830-MP2 GPU. On the internal memory slot it might come in 3GB or 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM with 32GB (eMMC 5.1) storage and another variant includes 4GB of RAM + 64GB (eMMC 5.1) storage, further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.

Rest of the specs includes a Hybrid Dual SIM (nano+nano/microSD card). Software 6x smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI 4.1 skin on top. On the camera front, the new Honor 6X flaunts a 12MP rear sensor with LED flash, 6P lens, 1.2um pixel size, PDAF and a 2MP secondary camera. While the dual camera posing Honor 6X also sports an 8MP selfie shooter on its front. There’s still a fingerprint scanner on the back that can unlock the device within 0.3 seconds.

Connectivity options includes 4G support with voice-over-LTE (VoLTE), WiFi 802.11, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and more. As said, the Honor 6X battery has a support for fast charging and packs a 3340mAh (typical) / 3270mAh (minimum).

The Honor 6X comes in Gold, Silver, Grey colors and is priced at 999 yuan (~$150 / Rs. 9885 approx.) for the 3GB RAM/32GB variant, 1299 Yuan (~$192 / Rs. 12850 approx.) for the 4 GB/32GB version and 1599 Yuan (~$240 / Rs. 15825 approx.) for 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage space. It will be available for order in China from today itself and go live on sale starting October 25th.
