The successor to the Huawei Honor 8, the Honor 9 is an upgraded model over the foremost that launched last year. For example, the Honor 9’s dual rear camera setup includes a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor and a 12-megapixel RGB sensor, up from the Honor 8’s dual 12-megapixel rear cameras. The screen on the Honor 9 is slightly smaller than its predecessor, it has somewhat moved the fingerprint scanner to the front, and the cameras have been improved as well. Now, how much RAM you’ll get in your phone depends on where you live in Europe: the UK is getting a 4GB / 64GB configuration, so the rest of Europe will receive the 6GB / 64GB edition.

The Honor 9 also offers an octa-core Kirin 960 processor, which is the same chipset found in the Huawei’s flagship P10. Other features of the Honor 9 include an expandable microSD card slot, dual SIM slots, an 8-megapixel front-facing camera, NFC, and a 3,200mAh battery. Furthermore, it runs Huawei’s custom EMUI 5.1 interface, based on Android Nougat. The display is of 5.15-inch full HD (1920×1080) resolution.

Finally, Huawei is touting the Honor 9’s audio capabilities. As the company speaks about the partnership with Germany award-winning producer Rainer Maillard to optimize the Honor 9’s sound quality. Also included is Honor Purity, an Honor 9-exclusive sound equlaizer developed by Monster, and Huawei Histin, which offers three sound modes for differed user scenarios.

All of these features are packed into a body with what Huawei calls a “3D glass back” with 15 layers. Yes, there’s still a standblasted metal bezel surrounding the Honor 9. Color options include Glacier Gray, Sapphire Blue, and Midnight Black.

Currently, Huawei hasn’t given an indication whether the Honor 9 will also make to the market in the US. But given the fact that, Huawei also revealed the new Honor Band 3 as well. This activity tracker and monitor heart rate, track sleep quality, and keep your running records. It’s water resistant up to 50 meters and is touted as having a battery that’ll last up to 30 days on a single charge.
