HTC has announced the Desire 830 smartphone for the Taiwanese market today, the company’s latest smartphone in its 800 series, alongside Desire 825. Successor to last year’s Desire 820, the new 825 features new range of inclusions, but with the same plastic build and bright accent colors, nevertheless, the BoomSound stereo front-facing speakers have received a makeover now.
Newly launched Desire 830 brings with it 5.5-inch 1080p IPS full HD display, that is powered by a 1.5GHz Octa-Core processor with Mali-T720 GPU. With 3GB of RAM memory inside the hardware, also comes in 32GB of internal storage, which can further expandable up to 2TB via microSD card. The MediaTek-powered Desire 830 runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7 UI skin on top.
Rest of the specifications includes a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), BSI sensor, also adds f/2.0 aperture, 28mm lens and 1080p video recording capabilities.For selfie shots, Desire 830 carries UltraPixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, 26.8mm wide-angle lens. Interestingly, it also comes equipped with dual front-facing BoomSound speakers with Dolby audio support.
Unfortunately, the Desire 830 smartphone doesn’t come with dual SIM slot, but supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS / GLONASS. It packs a 2800mAh battery inside the 7.9mm thick hardware and weights in at 156 grams. Color options for the handset you’ll get it in White with Orange and White with Blue.
The HTC Desire 830 is priced at NT$ 9,990 which translates to US$ 310 in the United States and in India it costs Rs 20,615 approximately. It will go on sale starting May 6th in its home town, Taiwan. No word on the global availability of Desire 830 yet made.
