Lenovo has although teased the launch of a new smartphone in India called P2. Lenovo has been gearing up its future plans to debut it on social media for quite some time now. It has confirmed that the company’s latest smartphone will be available directly on Flipkart (January 11, 2017).
New teaser has however confirms that the Lenovo P2 will be exclusively sold on Flipkart. The teaser comes in the form of a GIF image with nine boxes, having jumbled letters ‘Lenovo P2’ with battery icon, phone icon and a 100 percent charge icon. Users can grab a screenshot of the teaser with phone name and share it with Flipkart to win vouchers worth Rs 1000. Currently, there was no word on an exact launch date time frame as yet.
What we know so far about the Lenovo P2 is that, is the new smartphone in the ‘Vibe P series’ packing a 5100mAh battery with support for 24W quick charge. Otherwise, coming with a 5.5-inch fullHD 1080p AMOLED screen, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 625 processor and moreover it has a metal body along with a fingerprint sensor on its front panel.
Unveiled at IFA 2016 in Berlin, the description of the smartphone highlights massive battery package, which Lenovo claims is good enough to offer up to 78 hours of talktime on a single charge of 5,100mAh. Backed up with support for fast charging, even 15 minutes of charging is better enough to offer up to 10 hours of battery life. By the way, the Lenovo’s P2 smartphone also gets reverse charging capabilities, allowing you to charge other devices and works like a Power Bank accessories.
Other Lenovo P2 Specifications
It comes with a Super AMOLED display and uses Qualcomm’s SD625 eight-core SoC (eight Cortex-A53 cores) clocked at 2GHz. The Lenovo P2 is offered in multiple variants – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, 4GB RAM + 32GB storage, and of course, the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant. There’s still an option to expand the external storage space using microSD card (hybrid SIM card slot) also present.
On the photography front, the Lenovo P2’s rear camera features a 13-megapixel sensor with single LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. Connectivity options as per the leaks it include a dual-SIM slot, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS and the software it runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
Lenovo P2 Price
The smartphone has already made its availability in China with the 64GB storage variant at RMB 2,499, which is roughly Rs 24,500 in India. The 32GB variant is also expected to be launched, but likely to be getting a price cut down in the sub-Rs 20,000 region.
The Lenovo P2 comes in Champagne gold and Graphite gray colors and likely to compete with the likes of ASUS ZenFone 3 Max (ZC553KL), which also boasts a massive battery, 5.5-inch 1080p screen, Snapdragon 430 Octa-Core chipset, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory and 16MP rear and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Priced at Rs 17,999, carrying a 4100mAh battery which ASUS claims to offer up to 20 hours of talktime. Versus the Lenovo P2 in the next few days.
