Meizu M5 has now been made official at an event in China. Announced M5 smartphone with a budget price tag and other details are here to check.
Features and Specifications
With a big screen than its m3s family, now the Meizu M5 sports a 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) screen with 2.5D curved glass display, 1000:1 contrast ratio. Under the hood, the new smartphone from Meizu is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 chipset (clocks at 4 x 1.5GHz A53 + 4 x 1.0GHz A53) and Mali T860 GPU.
It has 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM with 16GB (eMMC 5.0) storage and also be available in 3GB LPDDR4 RAM with 32GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card slot. It runs on Yun OS 5.1 with FlyMe OS 5.5 on top, out of the box. Main feature would be the mTouch 2.1 fingerprint scanner underneath the screen that has been optimized and now triggers in just 0.2 seconds to unlock M5.
The smartphone has a hybrid SIM card slot that lets you use another SD card when required in place of a SIM. Offers 4G LTE connectivity with VoLTE support, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS / GLONASS options. It has a polycarbonate body and packs 3070mAh battery.
Now that the photography options include a 13MP rear-facing camera with dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.2 aperture, 5P lens. For selfies, it is equipped with a 5MP front cam, f/2.0 aperture and 4P lens.
The Meizu M5 comes in Mint Green, Glacier White, Champagne Gold, Sapphire Blue, Matte Black colors. It is priced at 699 Yuan (almost US$ 103 / INR 6,890) for the 2GB RAM plus 16GB ROM variant. For the 3GB RAM + 32GB M5 variant goes up on sale at 899 yuan (US$ 132 / Rs. 8860 approx.). Users can avail it in China starting today and goes on sale from November. No other mentions about its global launch time frame as yet.
