Motorola Unveils Moto G5S Plus With Dual Cameras And Moto 5GS With Improved Specs: Price And Release Date

The Motorola Moto G5S and Moto G5S Plus are official now. Here are the details on what you need to know about the two. Everything revealed today is fair and clean, including impressions and analysis, photos, video, release date, price, specifications and much more. Coming straight to the point.

Motorola has added two more smartphones to its G series line, that too in G5 segment: the G5S and G5S Plus. Highlights bigger displays, better cameras and more powerful processors than the original, which were released back in March.

The new Moto G5S comes with an evident redesign of the G5 exterior and it’s now an all-metal smartphone made out of a single block of aluminum. The refreshed phone features a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a 1.4GHz octa-core processor, a 16MP rear camera and what not, a 3000mAh battery, as opposed to the 2,800 mAh power pack on the regular Moto G5. With all improvements over its predecessor, the G5S Plus comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display, dual 13MP rear cameras with a Portrait mode, adding blurred background effect, selective black and white coloring, replace background mode and a 8MP wide-angle front-facing camera.

Similarities you will find with the newly launched Moto G5S Plus with dual camera setup is also found on the recently-unveiled Moto Z2 Force. However, unlike the 12 MP sensors on the Force, the G5S Plus arrives with a two 13-megapixel sensors. The front camera has also been improved as well, as Motorola has replaced the 5MP sensor with an 8-megapixel shooter and it now features a flash, though.

Just like its smaller sibling, the Moto G5S Plus also comes with an all-metal unibody design and a slightly bigger screen, already mentioned above. As for the chipset, the G5S Plus will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 2.0GHz eight-core processor, but, once again, RAM and storage values haven’t been discussed.

The rest of the keys for both device mirror the original G5s, with 4GB of RAM, and up to 64GB of storage space.

Update x1: Both phones have received all the latest Moto Experiences – such as Night Display and Quick Reply – and they still include a fingerprint scanner as previous devices did. It wasn’t spelled out, presumably they run on Android Nougat, too.
