OnePlus CEO apparently confirmed the name of the next upcoming smartphone, as OnePlus X. The Chinese company has already sent out invites for ts press event on October 12, where it is expected “The Next Big Step“, to announce the new version of OnePlus handset.
If the OnePlus X is a imminent, then it will be the third smartphone launching by the company, and the co-founder Carl Paul said that would be available around Christmas, and has been dubbed the OnePlus X. Believe it or not, the teaser found on the Weibo page of the company CEO Liu Zuohu seems to hint the name, while the screenshot of a map shows it with four lines converging to form an “X” symbol, that would seem to be a pretty good indication that the name of the new phone has already been leaked.
Chances are still there which could change the name of the new OnePlus phone from “X” to OnePlus mini, or both may appear at the event. Speaking of specs, the latest rumored ones for the OnePlus X include a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 a 441ppi pixel density.
The OnePlus X is also said to be coming with MediaTek MT6795 chipset under the hood, which is likely to carry a 64-b=it Octa-Core 2.2GHz CPU and for graphics it may include 700MHz PowerVR G6200 GPU, 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM, along with 32GB of internal storage and expandable microSD card slot.
On the camera front, the OnePlus X aka OnePlus mini alleged to feature a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensor, an f/2.0 aperture, and shoots 4K video, and the front-facing camera of 5MP. On the software front, it is also rumored to be coming Android 5.1.1 Lollipop or stock Android 6.0 Marshmallow pre-installed. Connectivity options to add USB Type-C port, NFC etc.
The purported OnePlus X phone is expected to be priced at $249 and will go on sale in November or December.
