It looks like Xiaomi’s Redmi 2 Pro (aka Prime) will be launched in India pretty soon, as it was spotted at the most popular online retailer’s website, Amazon India. Xiaomi could also make an announcement of its next gen phablet, Redmi Note 2 alongside the new custom ROM – MIUI 7 on August 13.
Here’s the Redmi 2 Prime listing information shows up all its specs in full glory.
It’s the successor to the Redmi 2 which packs a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS fully laminated display, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 Cortex-A53 CPU, Android KitKat with MIUI 6, 8MP rear camera with LED flash, 2MP front-facing camera, 4G LTE with support for TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) for India and a 2200mAh battery.
Now that the Redmi 2 Prime gonna be a refresh, slightly beefed up version of its predecessor. With 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage it is coming to India, will give a huge competition against other smartphones in the similar price range if it is released for Rs. 6,999 or less.
