Samsung has announced W2017 (SM-W2017), the company’s latest premium flip phone in China, as the successor to the W2016 of last year. Here is everything you need to know about the dual-screen based smartphone launched today.
Specifications wise, the announced flip phone packs a dual 4.2-inch fullHD 1080p Super AMOLED display, so that you can be interacted with the phone while it’s closed. You can open by flip to use the other screen with a keyboard.
It is powered by a 2.15GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and paired with Adreno 530 GPU, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and the high-end device in Samsung’s flip series also brings Hybrid dual SIM slot attached, where you can use either a nano+nano or an SD card in the second SIM slot.
You will get a 12MP rear-facing camera with LED flash, f/1.7 aperture, Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF) and 1.4μm pixels sensor. For selfies, you find a 5MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture. Measures in at 15.8mm and weighs 208 grams.
Now that the connectivity features it offers are 4G VoLTE support, WiFi 802.11ac (2X2 MIMO), Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS + GLONASS, NFC. It also comes with a 2300mAh battery with fast Charging (wireless/wired).
The Samsung W2017 officially be available in Black and Gold colors. No price details or release date time frame has been mentioned.
