Although Sony Xperia team has officially made available of three of its Xperia X series smartphone at Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC), and they are the Xperia X, Xperia XA and Xperia X Performance. When asked about the Sony Xperia Z6 launch, a comment on Sony Mobile DACH’s Facebook page confirmed that the Xperia Z5 will be the last generation of the Xperia Z series.
However, the Xperia X series draws a line under the past three years and six generations of Xperia Z flagships – with a goal of taking the best of the “Z” DNA forward into the new “X” brand. It’s imminent that it is time to finish the Xperia Z series finally and it did.
According to a comment on facebook, Sony’s North American Senior Director of Marketing, Don Mesa says “We’re not putting out a Z6 this year.” He didn’t explicitly state that the Z series is dead, and other publications have received somewhat vague statements. Anyhow this year the focus is firmly on the new Xperia X line. But confirming in a statement, Sony Mobile clarified that “there’s currently no Xperia Z6 launch plans at this stage.”
Mesa says, as the company prepares to release the Xperia X this summer in traditional strogholds like Europe, as well as the U.S. The “fresh start” for Xperia smartphones comes with a redesigned architecture focus on the U.S. market specifically on unlocked sales. The Xperia X represents a bold unique change in direction of Sony. Calls the “super-mid” Xperia X at the heart of the lineup, supported by the X Performance for those who demand more horsepower for games and other demanding tasks.
Final word is that we and you are not going to see a launch event for 2016 Xperia Z6 this year. But could get more refreshed things alongside.
