The Sony Xperia M5 is yet another smartphone expected alongside the Xperia C5 Ultra today, and finally both the handsets gone officail now. Just after unveiling the Xperia C4 successor to the world, Sony has also announced Xperia M5.
With 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, the Xperia M5 is powered by a 2.2 GHz MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) Octa-Core 64-bit processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM and expandable via microSD card support up to 200GB additionally.
This new Xperia M series smartphone also runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and also available in Xperia M5 Dual with Dual SIM functionality. Supports 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4/5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC connectivity options. It has Sony’s OmniBalance design with glass finish on both sides.
Essentially, the Xperia M5 boasts a 21.5MP rear Sony IMX230 Exmor RS sensor, F2.2 aperture, Hybrid AF, LED flash, 4K Video recording ability, 5x Clear Image Zoom and poses with the same 13MP Selfie-focused front-facing camera with Exmor RS sensor and 1080p video recording. Interestingly, it uses Phase detection AF (PDAF) for faster shutter speed response and Contrast detection AF for added precision added precision to produce crisp and clear photos, says Sony.
The Xperia M5 has IP65/68 certification for Water and Dust proofing protection with a cap-less USB port. It packs a 2600mAh battery with STAMINA mode.
Available in Gold, Black and White colors, the Xperia M5 will go on sale in selected markets across the world starting mid-August. Sony hasn’t revealed anything abut the Xperia M5 pricing as yet.
