A nearly bezel-free Xiaomi Mi Mix kicked off this year, and now it seems like its successor may be right around the corner. Just starting to see the leaks and rumors on top of the iPhone 8 display. Xiaomi comes along and decided to compete with edge-to-edge iPhone 8 in 2017. Here’s what the Xiaomi’s Mi MIX 2 looks like when compared to the iPhone 8.
Mi MIX designer Phillippe Starck posted a video of what appears to be the next version of Mi MIX on his Facebook page. Hinting that the device would have minimal bezels, even smaller bezels.
The designer shared a teaser video revealing what appears to be the targeted design of the Mi MIX 2. Check it out:

Perhaps, there’s really nothing to see, because of the bezel is so incredibly tiny. With just a silver at the very top and a tiny strip that houses the camera and microphone at the bottom. Indeed, it’s just gorgeous device that even if this is all we had seen. Excited about what? Noted leaker Benjamin Geskin dropped what he claims is the product render for the Mi MIX 2 as well:
Outside of this short clip, we don’t know much regarding the Mi MIX 2 yet. Also be noted that the video is a conceptual product design. Things may vary before we see the actual finished version of the gadget.
The images match up perfectly with video, assuming this is definitely the design of Xiaomi’s next ultra-flagship. The first Mi MIX, purely focused on a “concept phone”, indicating that it wasn’t sure if the world was ready for such a wild design. After receiving a great design and popularity, other phone makers went all-in on edge-less displays in an effort to reach the ultimate smartphone endgame: a bezel-free phone.
These new Mi MIX 2 renders reveal just how incredibly fast Android smartphone OEMs are advancing the bezel-free concept. As far as of the iPhone 8 design which appears to be a massive compromise. It will be very interesting to see how the next flagship Apple phone fares in the biggest challenge race yet.
