Xiaomi was expected to launch Redmi 4 alongside the unveil of the Redmi Note 4 in China last month. But the Xiaomi manufacturer didn’t announced Redmi 4. Now, the same name carrying smartphone, Redmi 4 has been apparently listed on Chinese telecommunications certification site TENAA. Here is another leak that claims tipped the launch date of Mi Note 2 as well.
The Xiaomi’s successor to Redmi 3, the Redmi 4 features and specs have been detailed and for the Mi Note 2 launch date hints at new day – possibly on September 14 or 24.
The Redmi 4, the smartphone is listed with model number 201606, which is said to come in Gold and Silver color options, and looks very similar to its brother, and newly launched Redmi Note 4. It is expected to have a 5-inch fullHD (1920×1080) pixels resolution display. It is powered by a 1.8GHz MediaTek Helio P10 Octa-Core processor. This new leak refuses the previous rumors of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC.
The new Redmi 4 device runs on MIUI 8 on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, and the package includes a 4000mAh battery unit. It will offer 3GB of RAM memory and 32GB of internal storage. The key features in the listing reveals the fingerprint sensor at the back and the claims also suggests its budget. The Redmi 4 is expected to be priced at Rs. 7000 in India once available, which translates to CNY 699 in China.
Taking the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. In two different leaks, the information provided conflicting its release dates. The first one comes from Weibo, speaking about the Mi Note 2 will launch on September 14. While the other shows up its face in a promo poster claiming the date to be set for September 24. It’s unlikely that Xiaomi to launch the Mi Note 2 on a weekend, as the 24th Sept. is a Saturday.
What’s confusing is that Xiaomi could also be unveiling the Mi Note 2 on 14th September, and making it available for the market on September 24.
About Mi Note 2 specifications, expected regarding the past leaks. To sport a 5.7-inch dual-edge screen and a dual-lens 13MP camera system at the back portion. It will be coming with an all metal body, and sports a 5.5-inch OLED screen. If that’s the case, then it will also be made available in 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and the same RAM and 64GB of internal space. It is said to honor with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 chipset, an USB Type-C port, a 3600mAh battery, two speaker grills, and a fingerprint scanner at the front.
Pricing for the Mi Note 2 is rumored. For the 64GB variant, it is expected to be at CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs. 25,000) and the 128GB storage Mi Note 2 costs CNY 2,799 (roughly around Rs. 28,000).
