Xiaomi has officailly launched upgraded Redmi 2A variant with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of internal storage in China, which was actually announced back in March 2015. Now that the native customers can buy Redmi 2A from their nearest retail stores or through online shelves.
Specs-wise, the Redmi 2A is no different from its predecessor, Redmi 2. Other than the expandaed 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in memory. Rest of the hardware is similar with 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display, 1.5 GHz quad-core LCI L1860C processor with Mali T628 dual-core GPU, Dual-SIM, 4G LTE connectivity support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and packs a 2200mAh battery.
Software front, the Redmi 2A runs on MIUI 6 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box and sports an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 1080p video recording and houses a 2MP front-facing shooter with 720o HD video recording capabilities.
The Redmi 2A is available to buy in White, Dark gray, Bright Yellow, Light Green and Pink colors and priced at 549 Yuan (US$86 / Rs. 5,745) in China. No details revealed on the global iteration as yet.
