If you’re eager to see the launch of Xiaomi Mi5 this Calendar month then you’re mistaken, but you gonna see another smartphone upcoming alongside it, could be the Redmi 3. Xiaomi has recently introduced the third-generation of Redmi Note series handset with metal body and followed by the yet-unannounced smartphone is already hands-on. The Xiaomi Redmi 3 benchmarked on Geekbench as well, and today it has been spotted at China’s regulatory website, TENAA.
The listed smartphones are known by their codenames Mi 2015811 and Mi 2015812, they could be two variants of the Redmi 3.
Design of the Redmi 3 is a bit similar to what the Note 3, but won’t be coming with a fingerprint sensor on its back. Under the hood it carries a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 chipset with Octa-Core 1.5GHz processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, which is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The Xiaomi Mi 2015811 sports a 5-inch HD (1280x720px) TFT IPS display.
Software on Redmi 3, runs on MIUI 7 based Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box. It’s a Dual SIM phone supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS. Camera-wise, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 packs an 8-megapixel rear sensor with LED flash and capable of recording 1080p videos, and 5MP of selfie-focused front-facing cam on-board. It holds the power of 4000mAh battery and it comes with an impressive 8.5mm thick metal unibody.
The Xiaomi Redmi 3 will be available in Dark Grey, Silver and Champagne Gold colors. Announcement expected during the Chinese New Year in February 2016 and is as a whole speculated to go with a price-tag of 599 Yuan (US$ 92/ Rs. 6125 approx.).
The Xiaomi Mi 2015812 is expected to come with 5.5-inch display, 1.8GHz Snapdragon 808 hexa-core chipset paired with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB, microSD card support. Features a 16MP rear or 8MP rear camera, fingerprint scanner, and 4G LTE, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth on connectivity front, whereas the model comes running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the and capable to upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
