As expected, Xiaomi has launched the new-generation budget phone, the Redmi 4 in China. By means the Xiaomi Redmi 4 is the successor to the Redmi 3 (and Redmi 3S), which brings with it an interesting set of features at a very mainstream cost. Newly announced hardware comes in two different variants, the standard model features a 5-inch HD 2.5D curved glass screen, Octa-Core Snapdragon 430 SoC, 2GB RAM and the high-end Redmi 4 variant is powered by the same Octa-Core processor but used Snapdragon 625 chips to boast and has a 5″ 1080p Full HD display.

Both the variants of Redmi 4 runs on MIUI 8 on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Sports 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF for 0.1 seconds focus, dual-tone LED flash and for selfies it carries an 5MP front-facing camera sensor. It comes with a Hybrid dual SIM support and packs a 4100mAh battery.

The phone supports 4G LTE and is VoLTE-ready.

The new Redmi 4 comes in Silver, Grey, Gold colors and is priced at 699 yuan (roughly US$ 103 / Rs 6,905) for the base model with Snapdragon 430, 2GB RAM/16GB storage. The Redmi 4 version with Snapdragon 625, 3GB RAM + 32GB storage will cost buyers CNY 899 (roughly Rs 8,888 / US$ 133).
