Here’s we got something on the Xiaomi‘s next Redmi Note 5 handset. Everything we know so far is it will be available in two variants based on processor, and the rest has been detailed below.
Specifications-wise, the new Redmi Note 5 may come in one with Snapdragon 625 SoC clocked at 2.0GHz – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and the second with 2.2GHz Snapdragon 630 CPU – 4GB RAM _ 32GB ROM, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. The smartphone is said to pack Adreno 508 GPU for enhanced graphics performance. Both the variants will feature the same 5-inch HD display with a screen resolution of 1920-by-1080 pixels.
On the software front, the Redmi Note 5 will apparently run the yet-to-be-launched MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box. Release date is expected by the end of this month, July itself.
The successor to the Redmi Note 4 is as said will be launching in multiple variants based on storage and processor. As these information leaks of the Redmi Note 5 device should be take with a pinch of salt, because they’re not officially confirmed at any point.
With that said, the Redmi Note 5 gets a squarish design with rounded edges, according to the leaked images. The antenna bands run along the bottom edges, and there’s still a circular fingerprint reader on the back. Rear camera along with flash are placed on the top left. Mi branding is towards the bottom of the back cover.
While the Redmi Note 5 is said to be packing a 3,680mAh battery, down from Note 4’s 4100mAh unit. And rumored that the Redmi Note 5 could come with a 16MP sensor at the back along with a 5MP front-facing camera.
Finally, the Redmi Note 5 will support NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, USB 3.1, and Quick Charge 4.0 technology. The three options will be priced at 1099 Yuan (Rs 10,000 approx), 1199 Yuan (Rs 11,000 approx), and 1299 Yuan (Rs 12,000 approx).
