ZTE, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has been trying hard to set up its game in the competitive world with its high-end Axon series, integrating top-end hardware specs inside it and garnered with premium materials and built quality into the handsets. With larger screens, ZTE Axon models already there such as Axon Elite, the Axon Lux and Axon Pro, not completed yet, but also have Blade range of devices and Nubia lineup. All with 5.5-inch sizes, and Axon mini comes with 5.2-inch display. Today, ZTE has introduced Axon Max with somewhat different architecture and key features that which we are going to discuss about.
The new announcement was made of AXON Max by ZTE. Sports a 6-inch Full HD (1080p) AMOLED display with 2.5D courved glass screen. It managed to get garnered its body using aircraft-grade aluminum-titanium allow and is just 7.5mm thick, which also brings the latest trend of Hybrid Dual SIM slot, which allows users to place a microSD card on the phones secondary SIM slot when required more and more space.
As aforementioned, like the rest of Axon series, this is no different, but Axon Max is specifically designed with premium looks in mind and boasts a thin and silcky structure, measuring in at 160 x 80 x 7.5mm. It is powered by Qualcomm’s new mid-range octa-core offer – the Snapdragon 617 chipset paired with 1.5GHz Octa-Core 64-bit CPU and Adreno 405 GPU, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage – further expandable to 128GB via SD card.
The Axon Max runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with MiFavor 3.5 UI skin on top. The camera setup on its back is an Phase Detection Auto Focus 16MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, whereas the front-facing 13MP camera withg f/2.2 aperture gives you perfect shootout of Selfies.
Battery package on the Axon Max, you will find a 4140mAh unit, which comes with full Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support and promises to deliver a snappy top-up from zero to 60% in only 30 minutes. Other than that, there’s some other features include, like USB Type-C port, dedicated AK4961 24-bit ADC for suprime audio and rear-mounted fingerprint reader.
Connectivity options on Axon Max includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPS, USB Type-C. What else do you want to know about the all-new mammoth smartphone from ZTE.
Priced at CNY 2,799 (about $431). The Axon MAX can now be pre-ordered in China. Color options are currently limited to Gold and sales will begin on the local market later this month, with no word on international availability as yet.
If it lands in India, ZTE Axon MAX will will go on sale at Rs. 28,630 approximately, which can compete with the likes of Micromax’s Yu YUTOPIA – launched recently at Rs 24,999.
