More Details On Sony Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Compact Leaked

Here’s exactly what the Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact are going to look like. The Mobile World Congress (MWC 2018) is about to kick off and we are sure can’t wait to see what surprises lie ahead. But in the era of leaks and rumors, surprises are often ruined, and with someone already has spilled the beans on what Sony has in store for us.

As we expect to see gadgets, and more probably the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact detail to come and refresh the line. Serial leaker Evan Blass again, sheds some light on what the phones would be like. Sony is about to do something that we heard the rumors earlier, but still dared not think of a complete redesign.

Leaked render of Xperia XZ2

The leaked render of the Xperia XZ2 surfaced today does show a modern shift in looks, but not definitely see the Sony Omnibalance design language DNA still in there. What’s differentiate is, there’s the biggest change – the display – is now having an 18:9 screen up front. It appears Sony was rather quick at embracing that trend. There is an arched back – can also be found with the Xperia XA2 and Xperia L2 flagships, and we found ourselves to be quite comfy on the hand.

The renders also show up a finger pad on the back for a fingerprint scanner. Point to be noted, Sony was not been able to sell phones with functional fingerprint scanners in the US for some years now. However, it seems that whatever legal bond Sony had has expired by 2018 since the XA2, XA2 Ultra, and L2 launched with fully functioning fingerprint scanners on the US market. And now, it appears that the flagship XZ2 is about to follow suit.

Furthermore, @evleaks claims that both the Xperia Xz2 and the Compact variants will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with a 3180mAh battery onboard for the big one and a 2870mAh unit for the smaller model. The main camera would have a 19MP sensor, a F/1.8 aperture lens, and capabilities to record 4K HDR video as well as the super-slow-motion that debuted with last year’s XZ Premium.

The renders of Xperia XZ2 also shows that the phone is a glass-and-metal sandwich, and got no other words on whether it supports wireless charging as yet. According to the outing, the body is ingress-protected – as usual – and the phone would have a set of “S Force” stereo speakers. It surely sounds powerful, so let’s assume they sound better than Sony’s previous, tinny-sounding attempts.

The Xperia XZ2 Compact, on the other hand, will have a polycarbonate body and will not haul the new stereo speakers. The colors we are expected to get are; black, silver, green, and pink. Although there might be slight variations or unique hues swapped between the XZ2 and XZ2 Compact. Stay tuned for more updates!
