Moto Z (2017) Image Leaks: Spotted With New Fingerprint Sensor, Snapdragon 835 SoC, More

Motorola’s second-generation Moto Z (2017) has been spotted in leaked image, as the alleged photo shows up almost of its specifications and other innards. It seems like the Moto Z 2nd-Gen is expected to launch sometime this year, but before that, we have our first glimpse of leaks and rumors, alongside a purported photograph of the Moto Z v2.0 surfaced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2017), actually when it was showcasing new Moto Mods and more recently was hinted at during Sprint’s Ggabit Class LTE service display on Thursday.


At that time, no one was quite notice that, but was first spotted by Android Central, and according to them, Motorola accidentally (or not), revealed the image of an unannounced Moto smartphone, suggesting that it is the Moto Z (2017). Moto Gamepad Mod 2017

One of the notable changes you may find from the leaked images are that it have the new oval shaped fingerprint scanner. However, the form factor largely remains the same, which is expected since it has to support current and future Moto Mods. Other hardware keys for the next Moto Z flagship would be its 5.5-inch display. An image directly from the MWC trade show points at, complete with a Gamepad mod, while another image circulated online from the Sprint launch was tweeted by WirelessWorld editor Diana Goovaerts. A recent Geekbench listing suggested that Motorola has plans to introducing a high-end Moto Z smartphone. The listing also revealed that smartphone from Motorola will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset and will pack a 4GB of RAM memory. With the device expected this fall in the premium category, the upcoming Moto flagship will look to boost some top-of-line features that include the processor, storage, battery and Mods. The device name is unknown, as it could be the Moto X (2017) or the rumored Moto Z (2017), but the device which we’re talking about look to maintain the slim metal slab design of the original. The alleged device was encased and covered from the edges making it difficult to confirm whether it was in fact the Moto Z (2017), which was showcased by Sprint’s Gigabit LTE service. Sprint, however, did not mention or confirmed anything about the device that used for testing. “Motorola showcased the blazing-fast, high-bandwidth capability of a forthcoming flagship smartphone based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 mobile platform with an integrated Snapdragon X16 LTE modem, supporting Gigabit Class LTE.”

The carrier has slated that it used a combination of “three-channel carrier aggregation and 60 MHz of Sprint’s 2.5 GHz spectrum in combination with 4X4 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) and 256-QAM higher order modulation to achieve incredible Cat 16 LTE download data speeds on a TDD network.” Also read: Moto Z To Get Slider QWERTY Keyboard Mod By Indiegogo Soon

The device is also touted as the thinnest premium smartphone in the world at 5.2mm. Speaking about last year’s 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display flaunting Moto Z, the flagship came with 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and laser autofocus, and on it’s front a 5MP camera sensor with wide-angle lens and of course a front-LED flash. And here are details regarding the Moto Z Play (2016).
