Before we speak about Motorola Moto Z2 Force price, specifications and features we have to tell you that the smartphone is all set to launch in India on February 15. Here are the details.
The last Motorola flagship to be launched in India was the Moto Z, since then, the company has released upper mid-range smartphones such as Moto Z2 Play, lower mid-range phones such as the Moto G5 Plus and the Moto G5S Plus, and the entry-level smartphones – the Moto E4 Plus, etc. In fact, the Moto Z2 Force was announced as the company’s new flagship smartphone in 2016, Motorola didn’t bring it to India since then.
Lenovo-owned Motorola on Friday sent out invites for the launch event of the Moto Z2 Force model. The formal invitation relatively confirms that the firm is interested in launching the new smartphone, bundled with Moto TurboPower Pack Mod that actually debuted in the country last December carrying a price tag of Rs. 5,999, respectively.
As aforementioned, the US customers were able to buy Moto Z2 Force through various carriers in August last year, which it comes with a starting price of $799 (approximately Rs. 51,460). For India, the pricing of the Moto Z2 Force will differ, as Motorola hasn’t announced any details about the price and availability as yet.
However, the invite that has been rolled out to the press and media otherwise reveals that the company is hosting the launch event live on YouTube at 12 noon on February 15. Based on the invite, it’s likely that the Moto Z2 Force will be offered with Moto TurboPower Pack Mod, which includes a 3500mAh battery and supports 15W output to offer fast charging. The same Mod is also claimed to deliver up to seven hours of battery life within 15 minutes of charging.
Apart from the live streaming, Motorola India will also be teasing the event on its social media channels. For the Moto Z2 Force, Motorola has made minor design changes over its predecessor. The company has also retained some of the strongest features of the smartphone, the modular trend has continued with the Moto Z2 Force, the smartphone comes with a brand new Moto Mods family.
In terms of design and specs, Motorola retains the shatterproof display on the Z2 Force. While everyone is jumping on the bezel-less edge bandwagon, with the Moto Z2 Force, the company has retained the traditional display with side bezels but ditched the aesthetics for strength.
Moto Z2 Force
Specifications for the Moto Z2 Force includes a design with 7000 series aluminum build that has a unibody design. There is a water-resistant nano-coating, and the back portion of the smartphone comes with pogo pin connectors to establish connectivity with different Moto Mods.
The Moto Z2 Force also comes with a 5.5-inch Quad HD (144p) Super POLED ShatterShield display. Based on Android 7.1.1 Nougat, the smartphone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, paired with 4GB of RAM and 6GB of RAM options. The Moto Z2 Force also features a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication, and it is embedded inside the Home button, just below the display.
Furthermore, the Moto Z2 Force has a dual camera setup on the rear side with two 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 image sensors. While one of the two sensors captures RGB images, and the other is a monochrome sensor. Both of them have f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, laser autofocus, and a CCT dual-LED flash.
Also, there’s a 5-megapixel camera sensor equipped on the front with a f/2.2 aperture, 85-degree wide angle lens, and an LED flash. The smartphone, Moto Z2 Force has 64GB and 128GB storage options that both are expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB). On the connectivity front, there is 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, and USB Type-C. The handset packs a 2730mAh battery that supports a 15W TurboPower charger. With a promised Android O upgrade once announced.
