Hot now is that Netflix has announced that it is in the midst of a “makeover” of the selection of user profile icons that are on offer. A Netflix refresh for its TV and set-top box interface offer users dozens of new options to choose from based on Netflix shows including Orange is the new Black, Stranger things and more.
The refresh in total also means, according to Netflix, there will be more than 100 icons to choose from. This allows Netflix users to customize their user interface/profiles in ways far beyond that are currently available. Which of those 100 profile icons include a man with sunglasses and a penguin, neither really filling us with excitement.
All of the ideas of having a profile picture from our show, however? That’s much more like it. For example Locke&Key on Netflix.
Profiles are key to creating a highly personalized Netflix experience. By watching on your own profile, we can showcase suggestions for TV shows and movies we’re sure you won’t want to miss. We’re always working to make it easier for our members to connect with stories they’ll love and creating your profile is the first step. If you don’t have one yet, we highly suggest you make one — and personalize it with an icon like Luke Cage, Crazy Eyes, or another one of your favorite characters.
Regarding that, Netflix says the new icons will be popping up on its website, mobile apps and TV apps “over the next few weeks” which means you might not see just yet, but if you keep checking when you’re next setting in for that new binge session it might be worth checking to see if the updated profiles pictures are ready and waiting for you.
