As 2015 comes to an end and still there’s no announcement of the upcoming flagship smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi. The most awaited smartphone was the alleged Mi5 – followed numerous leaks since the begenning of the this calendar year and now a photo surfaced on Weibo’s account could be our first-ever look at the forthcoming device, Xiaomi Mi5.
Emerged images shows that a person holding a device that resembles the Mi Note with a metal frame and the Mi logo on the left top corner. What’s the difference is that the device in the photograph from the Mi Note family are the ultra-thin bezels. Teaser, which is also apparantly hints at a possiblility that the hardware will boast Synaprics’ ClearForce technology – similar to what Apple’s 3D Touch tech is.
The Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun has recently said regarding the Mi 5’s prospect that the smartphone is “worth the wait.” So, the Mi 5 smartphone is expected to be unveiled sometime in January or February 2016, when Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset will be made available for commercial devices.
Aside that the purported specifications of Xiaomi Mi5 is said to go by featuring a 5.2-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB internal storage, and a combination of 21-megapixel and 8-megapixel selfie cameras. On the software front, it is expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI 7.
